The Foundation for the Science of Being

The Science of Christian Science

Summer School 2001 in the

United States and Classes in Canada

Dear Friend and Student of Science,

Once again I am happy to announce the program for the forthcoming USA Summer School, (2001) on the Science of Christian Science. Our subject will be: The Seven Days of Creation & the Second Record: Understanding the 'Equipollence of God.'

We will look deeply into the "Science of creation" set forth in the opening pages of Genesis, unfolding the sevenfold law of the WORD of God as the divine and spiritual record of all that is created.

Out of the perfection and allness of spiritual creation as the fullness, or full statement of what is real (first record), is disclosed then the full and complete statement of what is unreal (second record). When seen and examined in the light of divine Science and the oneness of Being, these two represent the beauty and balance of the "equipollence of God" (see S&H 110).

The unbroken scientific relationship between the first and second records presents the deep-structure blueprint for the consummate resolution of duality, not only for ourselves but for all mankind. Christian Science proves that there is only one creation, and the impulsion of LIFE, TRUTH and LOVE establishes the fact, namely that: "All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made."

I am also pleased to announce that classes on the Science of Christian Science will continue in Canada, in accord with the development of the idea in that field.

As always, the divine categories and system of the one Being, as found in the Christian Science Textbook (Mary Baker Eddy) and taught in the Science of Christian Science, are the sum and substance of all that we do together.

You are welcome to take part in any or all of these events. And, again, I wish to thank you for your spiritual vision and selfless pursuit of this idea, and for your loving support of the Foundation.

Gratefully,

Sue Bissonnette

Our Spiritual Preparation for the Summer School

A study guideline offering suggested steps of preparation for this year's Summer School subject will be sent to all who apply.
If you are unable to attend the Summer School, but still desire to participate in preparing for the subject within consciousness, you are invited to do so and may request this preparatory material from the Registrar (USA). This material is offered on a complimentary basis to any student desiring to follow the subject.
This guideline directs the student to the fundamental sources for the subject as found in the Bible and in the Christian Science Textbook by Mary Baker Eddy. These, together with the works of John W. Doorly and Max Kappeler comprise the substance upon which the Summer School Class is built.

"The three great verities of Spirit, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience,-Spirit possessing all power, filling all space, constituting all Science,-contradict forever the belief that matter can be actual. These eternal verities reveal primeval existence as the radiant reality of God's creation, in which all that He has made is pronounced by His wisdom good.
"Thus it was that I beheld, as never before, the awful unreality called evil. The equipollence of God brought to light another glorious proposition,-man's perfectibility and the establishment of the kingdom of heaven on earth." (109-110)

"Immortal Mind makes its own record. . ." (505)

"Is Christian Science contradictory? Is the divine Principle of creation misstated?" (546)
"No one can reasonably doubt that the purpose of. . .this second account. . .is to depict the falsity of error. . ." (537)
* *
"Subsequent Bible revelation is coordinate with the Science of creation recorded in the first chapter of Genesis." (537)

"In the Gospel of John, it is declared that all things were made through the Word of God, 'and without Him [the logos, or word] was not anything made that was made.' " (525)
